As many of you know, Dr. McKenzie has recently retired from full-time practice. While he remains involved in a limited capacity to assist with the transition, he is no longer able to maintain a full patient panel. We understand that this change has created uncertainty for many of his patients, and we appreciate your patience as we work to ensure a smooth transition.

What This Means for You

Due to the timing of Dr. McKenzie’s retirement, there was very limited time to transition all of his patients to new primary care providers. At this time, there are not enough family doctors available to immediately take over all patient files. However, we are committed to ensuring ongoing access to care through the following options:

• Nurse Practitioner Care Available NOW
  Patients who are open to having a Nurse Practitioner (NP) as their primary care provider in Richmond can book a meet-and-greet now. NPs are highly trained healthcare professionals who can diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, and provide comprehensive medical care, just like family doctors.

• New Family Doctors Arriving This Spring & Summer
  We are actively recruiting new family physicians who will be joining Terra Nova Medical Clinics in Richmond this spring and summer. These doctors may not necessarily be based at the Westminster Medical Clinic, but we will reach out to patients as new physicians become available. Please note that there may be a several-month gap before patients are matched with a permanent provider.

• Locum Doctors & Interim Care
  In the meantime, patients are encouraged to book appointments with our locum physicians or NPs for any urgent or ongoing medical concerns. To book an appointment, please book online, email or call the clinic.

We Appreciate Your Patience

We recognise that this transition has been frustrating, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding as we work within the current capacity of our medical team. Our staff is doing their very best to provide safe and effective care to all patients, and we kindly ask that they be treated with respect during this challenging process.

Dr. McKenzie will continue to assist in a limited role, but he is no longer maintaining a full patient roster. Our team is committed to recruiting new physicians and ensuring continuity of care for all affected patients.
