Vaccinations at Terra Nova Medical Clinics
Immunizations are a vital part of preventing disease and maintaining health for both children and adults. At Terra Nova Medical Centre, we offer a comprehensive range of pediatric and adult vaccines as part of our commitment to holistic healthcare.
Our pediatric immunization program strictly adheres to the BC Pediatric Immunization Schedule, ensuring your child receives the right vaccinations at the right time. This includes immunizations for diseases such as diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), tetanus, polio, Haemophilus influenzae type b, hepatitis B, meningococcal disease, pneumococcal disease, rotavirus, measles, mumps, rubella, and chickenpox (varicella), among others.

We recommend the COVID-19 vaccine following the guidelines and recommendations set by the BC health authorities at your local pharmacy.
For adults, we provide a range of vaccines including the annual flu shot, tetanus boosters, and immunizations for travel, occupational health, and specific health conditions. We only carry the annual flu vaccine. Other vaccines can be prescribed by your provider and any vaccine that is brought to the clinic by a patient can be injected by our healthcare providers.
We follow Canadian adult immunization guidelines, which recommend updates for:
- Tetanus and diphtheria every 10 years
- Pertussis once in adulthood
- An annual influenza vaccine
- COVID-19 vaccines, following the guidelines and recommendations set by the BC health authorities at your local pharmacy.
- the shingles vaccine (Shingrix) for adults aged 50 years and older
- Pneumococcal vaccine as per BC guidelines, which recommend a dose of Pneu-P-23 for adults 65 years of age and older, and for adults less than 65 years of age with certain risk factors.
Please note that appointments for vaccinations can be scheduled Registered Nurses (RN), or your regular Family Physician or Nurse Practitioners. Please indicate that you are coming in for vaccinations when you book your appointment so that we can prepare the required materials.
